Jalen Brunson joined Harry Styles on stage Saturday night at Madison Square Garden, adding star power to the singer-songwriter’s performance. The New York Knicks guard presented Styles with a commemorative banner marking the Together, Together residency.
The appearance came during the 30th show of the residency. Brunson received loud “MVP” chants from the home crowd. He wore a hat emblazoned with “TECHNO IS MY BOYFRIEND,” a hat Styles has been known to wear himself.
“Can you just make a note, we’re almost as tall as each other,” Styles joked when the two greeted each other on stage.
“And, yes, I will return your hat,” Brunson responded.
A Repeat Visit to the Garden Stage
This was not Brunson’s first appearance at the residency. The newly minted NBA champion had already attended two of Styles’ earlier shows at the Garden, and Styles gave him a shoutout during the performance on Sept. 12.
“We may or may not have the King of New York in the house tonight … Mr. Jalen Brunson,” Styles said during the show. “He’s just trying to have a quiet night out — not a chance. Not in this city. It’s like Mickey Mouse going to Disneyland.”
Brunson will return to his own Madison Square Garden stage Monday, when the Knicks host the Brooklyn Nets.
