Portland Trail Blazers guard Ja Morant exited his first game against his former team in the fourth quarter Thursday night because of a left hamstring injury.
Morant scored 14 points and recorded three assists in 23 minutes before leaving the game. He was ruled out of the Trail Blazers’ 124-103 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies.
Coach Micah Nori said after the game that Morant felt a twinge in his hamstring. Nori said he hoped to have more answers Friday.
“I’m hoping that it’s nothing major, obviously,” Nori said.
Morant is in his first season with Portland after spending the first seven years of his career with Memphis. He has averaged 16.3 points and 6.3 assists in 26.7 minutes per game. The Trail Blazers began the season 3-0 before suffering their first loss Thursday.
